tarot as a mirror
of daily life

I’ve pulled a tarot card every morning for the last four years. This has been a way for me to learn the card meanings and observe how the rhythms correspond with my daily life.
Each morning, I pull a card and set it on my desk. I look up the meaning and put it as an entry in my calendar. Sometimes I’ll look at the card during the day and wonder how it relates to what I’m doing in that moment. The following day, I’ll often look back and see if I can make any connections.
For example, yesterday I pulled the King of Swords, which is about communicating divine truths. And that felt very aligned with my energy: I wound up writing a heartfelt post in the morning, and had an honest conversation with someone in the afternoon.
I wanted to write about journaling with the tarot, but ironically, I’m having a hard time putting those ideas into words. So I’ll show instead of tell.
Here’s my life in 50 days of the tarot. This drawing represents the period of January 30th to March 23rd, 2023, expressed as a continuous line. I don’t know what this drawing reveals about me or this time in my life. Perhaps it’s enough to say I lived.
